Lantern Log #18—The Archive Grows

The lantern has been burning quietly these past few weeks.

Although things may have seemed a little quieter from the outside, behind the scenes BADLVCK Press has been busier than ever.

The biggest milestone was one we've been working towards for a long time... The Broken Song is finally here.

Seeing the second chapter of Shadows and Strangers finally step out into the world has been both exciting and surreal. Every release feels like another doorway opening into the BADLVCK-Verse, and we're incredibly grateful to everyone who has followed Maxen's journey so far.

But as always, finishing one project simply creates room for the next.

The BADLVCK Press website has continued to evolve into something far larger than we originally imagined. What began as a place to showcase books has slowly transformed into an archive of worlds, filled with Lantern Logs, recovered lore, music, artwork, doctrine, and fragments from realities that continue to grow every week.

The archive is still only beginning.

We're constantly writing new histories, expanding forgotten systems, refining the Laws, adding strange symbols, and filling notebooks with ideas that may not appear for months, or more likely years. Some fragments become stories. Others become music. Others quietly wait until the right moment.

The RXLICS Archive has also continued to grow.

More than anything, we've been chasing a simple idea:

What if clothing from a fictional universe didn't feel like merchandise...

...but like something recovered from it?

Every new design pushes a little further towards that goal, blending archive aesthetics, forgotten doctrines, relic symbolism, and fragments of worlds into wearable pieces that feel as though they've crossed the fracture themselves.

Meanwhile, work continues on The Law of Storms, which remains deep in its final editing stages. Every pass brings us closer to introducing a very different corner of the BADLVCK-Verse, one where the Laws stand in plain sight and the balance of reality is far more fragile than anyone realises.

There are countless other projects quietly unfolding too. You may notice that some ideas in the RXLICS Archive may be unfamiliar. That’s because they are.

One of them may hint at a series of short stories being written as we speak…

There plenty of secrets we're still not quite ready to share.

Sometimes it feels like we're trying to build ten different things at once. Perhaps we are. But they all lead back to the same place.

The BADLVCK-Verse has never been about a single book, a single album, or a single idea. It's an ever-growing archive of connected stories, strange philosophies, impossible places, and forgotten fragments waiting to be discovered. And we're only just scratching the surface.

Thank you to everyone who continues to read these Lantern Logs, explore the archive, listen to the music, wear the RXLICS pieces, or simply wander these strange paths with us.

Every visit keeps the lantern burning.

We'll see you further down the road.
