Autumn is coming.
And if there is one time of year that feels particularly at home within BADLVCK Press, this is probably it.
Dark evenings. Strange shapes between the trees. Cold mornings. Dying leaves. Things moving where you could have sworn nothing was standing a moment ago.
You know. The nice things.
And this year, we're heading into our favourite season with quite a lot happening.
The RXLICS Autumn / Fall Collection has begun making its way into the archive, bringing with it new designs, heavier pieces, stranger relics, and more fragments pulled from across the BADLVCK-Verse.
RXLICS has continued to change enormously since we first started experimenting with it. What began as a way of putting pieces of our stories onto clothing has slowly become something much closer to what we always wanted it to be: wearable lore.
Not simply merchandise for a book, but clothing that might actually exist somewhere within the worlds themselves.
Recovered archive pieces. Symbols belonging to forgotten organisations. Warnings without context. Creatures from places nobody should have visited. Fragments of doctrine. Relics from stories that haven't even been told yet.
We've also finally started wearing more of the pieces ourselves and, genuinely, we've been incredibly happy with them. They feel substantial, soft, and far closer to premium streetwear than we expected when this little experiment began.
The price of some pieces is higher than we'd ideally like. That's one of the unfortunate realities of producing clothing independently and in very small numbers, but we're working on it. More accessible RXLICS pieces are already being introduced alongside the premium garments, and UK orders over £65 now receive free delivery.
One step at a time, Lanterns.
Elsewhere, something else we've wanted to do for a very long time is beginning to become real.
Soon, Wisker's Whispers and our socials will start showing more of the physical side of BADLVCK Press.
Not polished mock-ups.
Not finished books.
The actual mess.
Paper scattered across tables. Drawings. Failed experiments. Strange documents. Drafted artefacts. Handwritten notes. Things printed, torn, stained, folded, rebuilt and occasionally stared at for far too long while we decide whether we've made something wonderful or completely ridiculous.
Probably both.
We've always wanted the BADLVCK-Verse to exist beyond a screen or a page. Slowly, we're beginning to make pieces of it physically exist around us, and we're excited to start opening that part of the archive for everyone else to see.
The books haven't stopped either.
A Series of Laws: The Law of Storms is now moving through its third round of edits, and every pass brings Llyrion's story closer to where we want it. This is a very different corner of the BADLVCK-Verse from Shadows and Strangers — a world of masks, doctrine, neon cities and Laws that are far harder to ignore.
We'll be showing much more of it later in the year.
And, inevitably, there are other things happening that we're still keeping tucked away in the dark.
Because apparently finishing one project before inventing six others is simply not how BADLVCK Press operates.
For now, though, we're looking towards autumn.
Towards darker evenings, colder forests, strange stories, new RXLICS, physical artefacts, more Wisker's Whispers, and whatever else crawls out of the archive while we're not looking.
Finally, as always, thank you to every Lantern-Bearer travelling alongside us.
Whether you've donated, bought a RXLIC, picked up one of our books, listened to the music, interacted with something we've posted, read these increasingly rambling Lantern Logs, or simply quietly followed along while we try to turn an imaginary universe into something that feels disturbingly real...
Thank you.
Every little bit of support lets us build another fragment. There is still an enormous road ahead of us. But that's alright.
Autumn is coming.
And there are beautiful things in the dark.
