Lantern Log #9 — Where We Are Now

The Lantern Logs began as a small idea—a place to leave fragments of the worlds being built at BADLVCK Press.

Since the first entry, we’ve been trying to add as much as we can.

(We’re a two-man band, way over our heads, with 10+ projects on the go).

New posts have explored parts of the BADLVCK-Verse, from the strange systems of magic and crystals to the deeper Laws shaping reality itself. Along the way we have also stepped briefly into the stories of Shadows and Strangers, the world of The Fractured Path, and even the music that has begun to form around these ideas.

This entry is a quieter one.

A simple moment to look at where the project currently stands.

The first book in the series, The Fractured Path, was released on 31 October 2025, beginning the journey into fractured realms and the strange systems hidden beneath them. Since then the universe surrounding the story has continued to expand in unexpected directions.

Work is already heavily underway on the second book in the series, The Broken Song, which will continue the journey into deeper parts of the world and the mysteries connected to the Realms.

We are also half-way through the editing process of a new story inside the BADLVCK-Verse, A Series of Laws — The Law of Storms, and BADLVCK’s Almost Adventurers.

Alongside the books, the musical side of the project continues to grow as well. BADLVCK mvsic explores the atmosphere and emotion of the universe through sound, experimenting with different styles and textures that reflect the strange mixture of ideas shaping the wider Verse. You can find them by searching BADLVCK on most major streaming services.

At the same time, the Lantern Logs themselves are becoming a kind of map—a growing record of the worlds, systems, and ideas slowly taking shape here.

There are still many things waiting to be explored.

More stories.

More strange systems.

More fragments of the BADLVCK-Verse.

For now, the lantern remains lit.

And the work continues.
